The Benefits of Good Nutrition

November 30th, 2008

Do you know the benefits of good nutrition?  You already know that too much of the wrong foods will make you gain wait, which can lead to a lot of chronic diseases.  Proper nutrition will help you to stay fit and healthy with plenty of energy to do the things you want to do.  Good nutrition goes deeper though.

Do you remember when your mother told you that you are what you eat?  It turns out that she was right.  Did you know that your entire skin is replaced within about a month?  In addition to providing you with the calories to do your daily activities, the nutrition that you take in every day is what your body uses to continuously rebuild itself.

Suppose that you are building a house.  If you used low-grade materials you know that you that you won’t end up with a very sturdy house, right?  So why provide your body with low-grade materials for it to rebuild itself? It needs the best possible materials to build a strong, healthy body for you to live in.  The real, long-term importance of good nutrition: to provide your body with the best quality building material for it to continuously regenerate itself.  And the long-term benefits of good nutrition are that you have a strong body that can function efficiently well into “old age”.

Here are some more timeframes I have found or heard.  Ten million cell are replaced every second.  The stomach lining is regenerated weekly.  Your skin is replaced about once a month.  It takes about 6 weeks to replace your liver.  About every 3 months you have a completely new skeleton.  And finally, every seven years or so every cell in your body is replaced.  That’s right, you are physically never more than seven years old.  Changes your perspective on “old age”, doesn’t it?

Check out the whole-food organic supplements that my family and I take.

The Health Magnet

November 13th, 2008

Have you ever considered using magnets to help with your aches and pains or to help you get better sleep?

Magnets have been used since ancient times by the Egyptians, Greeks, Chinese, and Indians to aid in healing the body.  In modern times magnets are becoming popular with athletes to aid in improving their recovery time after training and performing.

The human body was designed to live in the Earth’s magnetic field which has been declining over the years due to pollution and the artificial electromagnetic radiation we create with electricity.  We further diminish the effects of the Earth’s magnetic field on us by sitting in front of computers and televisions and by riding in cars.  This is one of the reasons why we are more tired and more stressed than we ever have been before.

As I said, our bodies were designed to live in a magnetic field.  Scientists disagree whether magnets can actually affect our bodies because the energy from most magnets do not penetrate our bodies more than a few millimeters.  At that depth magnets are not likely to affect the iron in our blood to help circulation or to affect nerve conduction.  Some scientists do believe that magnets help those functions.  Either way, what they don’t consider is the effect that magnets have on our energy system. By now, most people accept that we have an energy field around us. Some call it an aura.  It is a subtle energy than can be easily influenced by magnets and doesn’t require the magnetic energy to penetrate our bodies. Our energy field can then affect our physical body.

I use magnets on myself, my family, and on my massage clients and have had excellent results.  A few people don’t feel anything while most people feel something immediately.  The magnets I use vary between 300 and 1800 Gauss and are plenty strong enough to have an affect on the body, especially the energy body.

There is a lot of noise on the internet about whether magnets work or not, how strong they have to be, the right polarity, and the best pattern for the magnets to be laid out.  My belief is that none of that really matters.  What is important is if they work for you, if you “feel something” when you use them.

I had someone try a magnetic bracelet to see if it would help with arthritis pain in her wrist.  She wore it all day and she said she was feeling something, something was happening.  Her husband saw the bracelet and told her that they don’t work, so she returned it. Even though she felt it herself, she let someone else’s disbelief overrule her experience.  The bottom line is that you have to try them for yourself and make your own decision whether they work for you or not.  Don’t let someone else decide for you.

Leave me a comment on your experience with magnets.  I look forward to reading what you have to say.

Take a look at the magnets that I use.
